In his book, How to Kill a City: Gentrification, Inequality, and the Fight for the Neighborhood, Moskowitz adds to the growing canon aimed at understanding and explaining the process of gentrification, and how local governments cede their power over residents’ lives to private interests. Image courtesy of the author. A journalist based out of Philadelphia, Moskowitz has written for the New York Times, Slate, BuzzFeed, The Outline, The New Yorker and other publications. His current project includes writing a book about the concept of free speech and how it became a propaganda tool for fascists.

NOTE: This program is part of an author series in conjunction with the exhibition A Right to the City and will take place at the Watha T. Daniel-Shaw Library, 1630 7th St NW. Limited copies of the book will be available for purchase.

This program is funded in part by the D.C. Commission on the Arts & Humanities, an agency supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
