Happy to announce that on April 22nd Luke James Shaffer (with the full band — Sean Mahon, Daniel Brown, Barrett Johnson and Jay A. Thompson) will be headlining at City Winery Washington DC joined by the ever so talented singer extraordinaire Sydney Franklin!
Luke James Shaffer — Singer-songwriter Luke James Shaffer’s story is one of upbeat resolution through fickle times rife with ambivalence.
Luke’s congenial easy-spirited musicality traverses alternative Americana, folk-pop, soul, and the intimate singer-songwriter genre. His warm and soulful vocals have garnered him comparisons to The Lumineers, Vance Joy, Zac Brown Band, and Mumford & Sons. Luke's love song to his wife about the story of their first kiss, «Last First Kiss» was a finalist in the Unsigned Only Music Competition in 2019.
In joining forces with House Music Group in 2018, he found a platform that would nurture his gifts as an artist and support him in the decision to focus on only original music full-time. “They have faith in me. This is a big step that I don’t take lightly,” he says.
As a philanthropist Luke was able to team up with the Global Mental Health Alliance on his song, “We're All a Little Crazy,” which reached the Top 50 on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts. A portion of the proceeds for this track go directly to the Foundation.
Up next, Luke will tour behind his EP and record its follow-up release. «I have a strong faith in everything we are doing. I have the attitude that when you put the hard work in, believe in yourself and your team and manifest a positive outcome for your life, things will work out.” — Sydney Franklin — »R&B/Soul artist, and singer-songwriter Sydney Franklin released her debut freshman EP Make It Hurt in February 2018. The four track EP has since racked up over 500,000 Spotify streams to date, and the title track, along with the Mac Ayres duet «Forever» currently in rotation on «Sunday Mimosa» — SiriusXM's Ch 48 Heart & Soul radio station and made her debut appearance at the 2018 SXSW Conference and Festival performing at an all-female artist showcase, and has since performed for iHeart Media, SiriusXM, NYC's famed Iridium, Rockwood Music Hall, and DC's own Union Stage.
