Join Busboys and Poets on Valentines Day for a variety show for those of us that Cupid missed this year. Enjoy the area's finest comedians and poets, get a caricature of yourself, and compete for prizes in our game shows! It could be «Heads-Up for the Lonely», «The Complete Strangers Game», or even a love song karaoke battle, the only way to find out is to show up and play!
Who knows, you might even meet someone that's into the same, ahem, unique stuff as you! Audience participation is not mandatory, but certainly rewarded. Come on up and enjoy yourself, because you deserve to enjoy Valentine's Day, so treat yourself to a great show and a fantastic meal!
Robin Hazel: Robin is a Baltimore-based comic, originally from New York, by way of Pennsylvania. Her comedy has been described as”energetic,’ ‘honest,’ and ‘uninhibited.’ She has been known to perform while breastfeeding, or with a baby on her shoulders. Ask her about it. She performs all over the DMV and Pa.
Simply Sherri: California born and Maryland raised, Simply Sherri started writing in 2001 and started reciting her work in 2008 in her poetic home of Baltimore. With topics ranging from love and relationships to depression and verbal abuse, her writing style is easy going and a reflection of her world.
Simply Sherri has spotlighted and featured in New York City, Philadelphia, Washington and Atlanta. In 2010 she released her debut poetry CD Liquefy. She released her first book “Love Simply” in 2015. She is the host of several poetry venues between Baltimore, MD & Washington, DC.
Sofia Javed: Sofia Javed can make at least one person laugh. She honed her skills on unsuspecting co-workers and metro riders for an undisclosed amount of time before hitting the stage as a comedian last year year. She delivers tightly-worded, thought-provoking jokes around the DC-area and has also performed in Seattle, Chicago, and New York. Sofia’s comedy is inspired by her life as a woman of color in America and her career as a cubicle bureaucrat. She enjoys steak.
