Pedro Moraes Trindade (Mestre Moraes) — Brief Biography — Mestre Moraes has a Degree in Vernacular Letters with English from Universidade Católica do Salvador (1991) and a Master's Degree in Social History from UFBA. He is a Doctor of the Multidisciplinary Program in Culture and Society of the Federal University of Bahia, where he develops research on capoeira, culture in the 21st century. Has experience in English Language, Cultural Studies, Public Policies, Knowledge Management and History of Brazil. He is a professor of the Public Network of the State of Bahia. In the early 1970s he moved to the city of Rio de Janeiro where, in 1980, he founded GCAP — Capoeira Angola Pelourinho Group. In 1982, he returned to Salvador and, since 1983, established the headquarters of GCAP in the premises of Forte de Santo Antônio Além do Carmo, where since then he has coordinated works with children, adolescents and adults, using Capoeira Angola as a means of social integration. In 2004 he was nominated for a Grammy in the category «World Traditional Music» with the CD 'Brincando na Roda'. Also in his musical production are CDs 'Meu Viver' (2010), 'Roda de Angola' (2009), 'Ligação Ancestral' (2005); 'GCAP tem Dende' (2001) and 'Capoeira Angola from Salvador' (1996).

Pedro Moraes Trindade ( Mestre Moraes) Currículo resumido.
Possui Graduação em Letras Vernáculas com Inglês pela Universidade Católica do Salvador (1991) e Mestrado em História Social pela UFBA. É Doutorando do Programa Multidisciplinar em Cultura e Sociedade da Universidade Federal da Bahia, onde desenvolve pesquisa sobre capoeira, cultura no século XXI. Tem experiência em Língua Inglesa, Estudos Culturais, Políticas Públicas, Gestão do Conhecimento e História do Brasil. É professor da Rede Pública do Estado da Bahia. No início da década de 1970 mudou-se para a cidade do Rio de Janeiro onde, em 1980, fundou o GCAP – Grupo de Capoeira Angola Pelourinho. Em 1982, retornou para Salvador e, a partir de 1983, estabeleceu a sede do GCAP nas dependências do Forte de Santo Antônio Além do Carmo, onde, desde então, tem coordenado trabalhos com crianças, adolescentes e adultos, utilizando a Capoeira Angola como meio de integração social. No ano de 2004 foi indicado ao Grammy na categoria «World Music Tradicional» com o cd Brincando na Roda. Também fazem parte da sua produção musical os cds Meu Viver (2010), Roda de Angola (2009), Ligação Ancestral (2005); O GCAP tem dendê (2001) e Capoeira Angola from Salvador (1996).
