Tune in to The Universal Listening Room Spotify
playlist, curated by Will Eastman: bit.ly/UNVRSL
Take a second to think about your first concert, or the first time you listened to your favorite album in your parents’ basement with your friends. Think about how you feel when you’re in the moment with music, when it is flowing over you.
This summer, join U Street Music Hall co-founder/owner Will Eastman and guest selectors every Sunday at U Hall's Frontbar for The Universal Listening Room, an evening where we celebrate our favorite songs of all time and the pure, communal connection we experience with music. A place where we can gather to enjoy songs we all know and love in a welcoming, unpretentious environment that's conducive to conversation with friends, old and new.
This is not a show. This is not a DJ set. This is a listening room where we play songs that mean something to us, played in their entirety, selected by people who’ve spent a lifetime seeking and appreciating music. There will be tons of music that you’ll instantly know and love (and hopefully some songs you'll fall in love with!), but at a volume where you can connect—and even sing along—with friends and strangers alike.
At the Universal, we invite you to slow down, turn off social media, put your phone down for an evening, and just enjoy good music and good company.
Connect with the music. Connect IRL with one another. Connect.
